Abstract
The placement of dental implants in the anterior site with alveolar bone resorption is a complex and advanced treatment. This treatment may require augmentation of the alveolar bone horizontally or vertically with various clinical techniques before dental implant placement, if the alveolar ridge evolved into a knife-edge ridge crest after the extraction of teeth previously. The maxillary bone is flexible enough to improve the quality of alveolar bone for dental implants by using series of chisels and osteotomes. In this report, modified ridge splitting and ridge expansion osteotomy were used together for the horizontal augmentation of the anterior site with severe resorption of the alveolar bone. For this surgery, we used the ridge spreader kit and osteotomes. After these techniques, implant fixtures were installed immediately with guided bone regeneration.
